Local elections are scheduled to be held in Caloocan on May 12, 2025, as part of the 2025 Philippine general election. The electorate will elect a mayor, a vice mayor, 18 members of the Caloocan City Council, and three district representatives to the House of Representatives of the Philippines. The officials elected in the election will assume their respective offices on June 30, 2025, for a three-year-long term.
Mayoral election
Incumbent Mayor Along Malapitan is on his first term after winning in the 2022 local elections, thus eligible to seek re-election in 2025.[1] Malapitan is expected to run again for a second term.
Former Senator Antonio Trillanes sought a comeback at the Senate but failed having placed 21st in the 2022 Senate election. He is expected to run for mayor against incumbent mayor Malapitan.[2] He signaled 95% likelihood to run in the local elections in 2025.[3][4] His potential mayoralty bid has also gained support from former 2nd district Representative and 2022 mayoralty candidate Edgar Erice, who is expected to seek a comeback to the Congress in the 2025 elections.[5]
